Redevelopment of Old Port of Limassol
The redevelopment of the old port area aimed to transform it into a dynamic and multi-functional urban space that reestablishes the city's connection its maritime heritage. The project revitalized the previously neglected and underutilized area into a lively centre with a mix of recreational, commercial, and cultural activities, enhancing the city's relationship with the waterfront and its surroundings.
The central concept revolves around a three-dimensional pathway that integrates the existing seaside promenade with the port and beyond, creating movement through the area. This path is designed to shape the environment, introducing spaces?` for activities, relaxation, and interaction. Other key features include a plaza that disperses foot traffic between existing and new buildings, and strategic connections between the port and the city, enhancing accessibility and cohesion.
